I knew it exists!

Francesca Woodman. The photos I’ve waited to see my whole life. I had never seen these before until I randomly bumped to these. First thinking they are new and deliberately taken with an old camera to make them appear old. But their actually old, from 70’s, but still younger than appear.

50 euro bill scanned

Astonishing details in a bill! Sounds dodgy to put such a large scan of a bill to internet. Could it be illegal?

Edit: It’s obviously illegal. This sounds pretty extreme: “Due to a vast government conspiracy versions CS and CS2 won’t open an image of many bills, but instead give you a warning box and report you, your IP address, your registration street address and phone nimbers, the contents of your address book and email inbox to the US Treasury, along with other personal information from your hard drive.

RP

RP is new small scale digital type-foundry established in 2009 by Radim Peško. The foundry is focused on development of typefaces that are both formally and conceptually distinctive.

I love their website http://radimpesko.com/! Generally I’m bored with “normal” looking websites.

Tablet mania.

Apple will, allegedly, launch their tablet computer today. Where they going to rip the need for me to get it? They’ll figure a way I’m sure. Maybe this puts an end to my everlasting pondering to get the Kindle or not. The idea behind Kindle is wonderful especially folks like me who lead an extremely nomadic life style. Books are best they just take space way too much. If you’d own an apartment and had a day job and wife etc. piling tons of books in your living room would not be a problem. But as for us moving five times a year it’s just not wise.

Why don’t I have Kindle yet? Maybe cause it does exactly the same as a book, it offers nothing new but the portability, and that’s not enough. Fake Steve sums it:

New technology spawns new ways to tell stories. That’s the really exciting thing here. Not the tablet itself, but what it means for news, for entertainment, for literature. Gasp. Geddit? Is the fucking light going off yet? This is what Anton Chekhov meant when he said that the medium is the message. This is why the Tablet is so profound.

There is no point in moving to digital readers if we’re just going to do what we did on paper. That’s why Kindle is such a piece of shit. All they did was pave the cowpath. And that’s why we’ve held back on our Tablet — not because the technology wasn’t ready, but because the content guys are such fucktards that they still can’t create anything that makes it worth putting the Tablet into the world.
